July 7, 1930 - May 24, 2013
Leabert Samuel Grant, Age 83, went to be with our Lord and Saviour on May 24, 2013.
Born July 7, 1930 in Water Valley, St. Thomas, Jamaica, he immigrated to England as an ambitious young man. With hard work, perseverance and the support of a loving family, he later moved to Toronto, Canada where he procured a lovely home on Rhodes Avenue; a home that has truly been a haven for his family members over the years. In his prime, you rarely saw him without one of his many tools, repairing furniture, walls, pipes or electrical issues. In fact, he could fix anything, including your heart if it was broken, as behind his tough exterior he had a caring spirit. Leabert also had a tremendous work ethic. He was employed by Northern Telecom for 30 years before he retired in 1995. He was a man of integrity, strength, tenacity and kindness who loved his family, a good game of cricket, old western movies, baseball and a cold drink. For all of these things and much more, he will be greatly missed by those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
