We are so saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Hornby.  We lived on Heale Avenue in the 60’s and early 70’s. The families on Heale Avenue have a special bond - the Barlows, Janusas, Andersons, Lyons, Wells, Campbells, Baxters, Skeet’s, D’Angelo’s, As part the “the kids” on the street, we were always welcomed with a smile by Mrs. Hornby, when we came to visit - the adventures of Bill and my brother  Ronnie,  and especially  Gordy and my brother Rickey and the trouble those two got into.  Mrs. Hornby was always graciously exasperated by whatever those two got into.  

The Hornby family are fondly remembered, and we send our deepest condolences to Bill, Gordie, family and friends.  She is in the arms of Jesus.

We had many good times with aunt Lil.  She always had a ready smile and so full of fun. 


I always remember her being happy and gracious every time I was around her.

Always  smiling Auntie Lil left us , peacefully in her sleep this morning , at home,  Monday, January 09, 2023, after 93 years of a happy life in Toronto, cared for perfectly by her son Gordon. I have many happy memories to keep… but skating with her at the Kew  Beach natural ice rink when I was a child , is still fresh for me.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to her sons Gordon and Bill Hornby, grandson Dan , her sister Thelma Henderson and Ken and their families, and all the nieces and nephews who were so fond of aunt Lil.

Lillian (Lil) May Jessie Bunker left to be with her late husband Walter Hornby during the night of January 9th. She was the daughter of Edgar and Eva Bunker and mother of Bill and Gord Hornby. She always had a special place in her heart for her grandsons James and Dan. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and sister, Thelma, the last remaining 7th sibling. Lil would have been 94 in April.
