Born on September 2, 1971, at supper time, Lisa carried that joy of gathering and sharing meals throughout her life. It is a tender grace that, after enjoying her supper, she went to lie down, where her heart failed, and she was called home to God.
Lisa was the beloved daughter of Maureen Alice (Healey) Curtis and the late David Vincent Curtis, and the cherished sister of Jeffrey Allen Curtis, Lara Ann Lavor (Edward) and Reverend Edward Curtis. She was the much-loved and immensely proud aunt of Emma, Maya and Alyssa and will be fondly remembered by her extended family and countless friends.
Lisa was always a shining light to those around her. She fearlessly lived life and loved life, doing whatever was necessary to face her many health struggles with courage. She never gave up, never quit, and never complained. Lisa was such an innocent person, and her joyful spirit, her singing and dancing, and her ability to find friendship and laughter in every season of life will remain an inspiration to all who knew her.
Lisa had a special love for seniors, who became many of her closest friends—and who, we trust, are now joyfully welcoming her into Heaven.
Since May of 1991, Lisa made her home at New Leaf Living and Learning Together Inc., a community for individuals with a variety of special mental health needs. Our family owes a heartfelt debt of gratitude to the dedicated staff and residents of New Leaf, who supported Lisa and shared in her journey for more than three decades.
We also wish to thank the many healthcare professionals who cared for Lisa over the years, especially the Stronach Cancer Centre and Southlake Hospital, for their extraordinary kindness and compassion.
Visitation will take place at Delmoro Funeral Home, 61 Beverly Hills Drive, Toronto, on September 3rd from 4:30-7:30pm . The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Benedict Parish, 2194 Kipling Avenue, Etobicoke on Thursday September 4th at 11:00am, with interment to follow at Mt.Peace Cemetery located at 3204 Cawthra Rd, Mississauga,

Lisa’s life was a gift to all who knew her. While our hearts grieve, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life and trust that she is now singing and dancing among the saints in the presence of her loving God.
