To my best friend with all my love,
I started at the James Cardinal McGuigan in September 2008 and quickly learned about the mistrust of police in this school community. School administrators had made a decision to cancel the Junior Boys basketball program. After meeting Lisa she counselled me that this would be a very bad decision and that the basketball program is one of the activities that the students that are considered to be “at risk” participate in and essentially keeps them active, at school, and away from the prospect joining gangs or engaging in criminal activity. Lisa flatly stated “This will not help you or the Service”. Lisa was a major reason why I was able to ‘break the ice’ and gain the trust of – well, the entire school and the community surrounding it.
Over the years Lisa has also been involved in several programs that included the participation and involvement of other Toronto Police officers. There are too many to mention.
A few of the boys we coached from the 2009 basketball team were in attendance at Lisa’s funeral. Lisa and I were still in contact with some of these young men. ‘They’ told us we would never get the boys to 7 am practices. ‘They’ said we would be lucky to see these boys graduate high school or even see some of them walk out alive. ‘They’ said these boys hate the police no matter what we could do. Six of our boys have graduated from university, several have steady employment and good lives. THEY WERE WRONG. Lisa was the reason. This is simply who Lisa was she gave her all and inspired many – including me.
Lisa gave of herself – selflessly. Despite her health issues she forged on and was thrilled to be in partnership with The Toronto Police. The results of her efforts speak for themselves but she has had a profound effect on her community and in doing so has helped me and us, The Toronto Police Service and our image in the community.Lisa you will be forever missed and loved always.
Forever in my heart,

Nick and Sabrina Iannarella

Lee, Joe, Silvia, Mark,
My thoughts and prayers go out to you all during these difficult times. May God give you the strength and courage to continue your lives with fond memories of Lisa and the mark she has left on so many people's lives.
When I first met Lisa and the Rizzuto family I saw the love, time and dedication they all had to the youth with special needs. Lisa would always be at the events in the background helping, smiling, planning and organizing.
Over the past months, I would ask Mike and Vicky how Lisa was doing only to receive news of her worsening condition. We are saddened by her death and no true words can express the grief and sorrow but the volume of people seen these past few days is a true testimony of the wonderful person she was.
May her contributions never be forgotten and may we all stop, look, and learn by her wonderful example. The world would definitely be a better place to live in!
Rest in peace Lisa, love Fil, Marco and kids, and Lucia Iamascia

Dear Silvia, Joe, Mark and Lee,
Please accept our most sincere condolences on the passing of your beautiful angel. Lisa has made such a lasting impression on our family. Her gentle nature, caring manner and sincere loving and caring manner for all "her children" in the Grandravine family was always on display. One of my fondest memories of Lisa is of the yearly banquet.... Lisa's dance card was always full! The boys loved her so!

I hope you all find the strength and comfort in the beautiful memories, and the lasting impression, she has had on SO MANY PEOPLE!

Joe, Sylvia ,Mark and Lee,
Lisa got the most beautiful send of possible. From the enormous amount of people who went through the funeral home doors the past few days, to the no of people who showed up at church and the reception today go to show how much everyone cared about you all.
The sun came out as Lisa was layed onto her resting spot. That was Lisa saying I am here and will be watching over you all.
Rest easy you beautiful, kind, caring lady. There will never be another to fill your shoes. You were so wonderful with all our special kids. Now you are their angel .

Lisa was one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever met. She was one of my best friends in high school. I am sad that we lost touch over the years, but I have nothing but good memories of her. We were always smiling and laughing when we were together. I will truly miss her.

Dear Lee, Silvia, Joe & Mark.

We are deeply saddened for your loss. Our hearts have been torn and we can’t even imagine your pain.

We don’t know why this happened to Lisa who was so giving and loving and she had more to give. For now it will have to remain the painful mystery that it is. Losses like this can make us challenge our faith; however, this is precisely the time when our faith needs to be its strongest.
I am praying that your faith will help you and your get through this very difficult time. We will pray that you will all find the strength to get you through your grief and sadness.

Lisa will be with us always! We will cherish all the great memories and the times we spent together until we meet again.
