Lisa was the epitome of what it means to be humble and the matriarch of our family. She opened her heart and home to anyone in need, a stranger or a friend. If you were going through something, Lisa would always listen, help where she could or give guidance. What Lisa may have lacked in wealth was far outweighed by her caring spirit and grace, everyone found solace and love with her and so many called her friend or Mom.
LaCombe, Lisa Marie passed away suddenly and quietly at home on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at the age of 66. Lisa was born on Wednesday May 1, 1956, to Harold and Dorothy LaCombe. Lisa was the youngest of 3 brothers Butch, Wayne, Robby, and sister Dorothy. Lisa was a quiet, shy little girl growing up in Toronto on the Danforth. She graduated from Early Grey Middle School, Eastern Commerce School of Business High School, and then onto Centennial College to major in Business. Stephen Myers was Lisa’s long-time love and best friend; they had a relationship that surpassed every obstacle thrown their way since they fell in love as teenagers up until Steve’s passing a few years ago.
Lisa is survived by her three daughters, Lori, Denise and Dawn, her five grandchildren, Justin, Ryan & Daniel (Lori) and Cody & Carley (Denise), proud GiGi to Kingsley Storm (Daniel & Shayla), Evelyn Lily Marie (Carley & Mitch), Xander & Aiden (Ryan & Michelle) and honoured Godmother to Christine Canning. Lisa was extremely proud of her daughters and of her grandchildren’s successes in life, careers and families. Lisa would dote to anyone who would listen to her proud stories of her grandson Justin in the military, coming from a military family background and of every fun story of her great-grandchildren. Family was the centre of her being.
Lisa had a love and passion for gardening, refinishing wood furniture, watching thunderstorms and following the weather, a love of antique cars and furniture, and camping trips with family at car shows. Lisa had a love of collecting items that would be felt in the heart or in her memorial, from her family tree, to spoons of her families travels, stamps, thimbles from her mother, every coin for the birth year of every family member, Pokémon cards for her grandchildren, anything with wolves or unicorns, to yards of fabric and yarn to make blankets, throws, hats, scarfs and everything in between! Photos were her favorite; every family member had an album dedicated to them. Lisa would tag herself on everyone’s social media just to collect more pictures of everyone’s fun adventures! Bon fires and food were always the highlight of every family get-together. Lisa always had tunes of every genre from rock n’ roll, to top 40, to country to rap playing at home and loved to dance while cleaning and baking.
Christmas was her favorite time of the year from decorating every inch of the home, no room or wall space was safe from Christmas decorations! Our dinner table was always open to anyone who might be alone for Christmas. Lisa would crochet and make home-made gifts for everyone; gifts were always from the heart and made with so much love and thought put into them. Our Mom would bake up a storm with Christmas care packages for every family member and friend, every neighbour to every business she was friends with. No matter how long ago, or how small the interaction may have been, if she felt an impact from your service or graciousness, you would receive a Christmas card with a hand-written note of thanks and mailed to you every single year. This Christmas will not be the same and sad for many.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to everyone for their care, support and love during our time of loss
