Dear Aunty,

You will be dearly missed. I remember meeting you exactly 33 years ago in Mulund. You were always very kind and loved to feed us. 

Thank you for always being so selfless and giving. You should be proud for raising such wonderful children in Aruna, Ajit, Channu and Uma. We know you and Uncle will be forever looking over them.  We will miss you Aunty.

Avva was indeed an inspiration to all of us.  She fought her illness bravely till the very end. But for her both of us would not have been part of  the family.  She was the backbone in kith and kin on both sides of her family.  She will remain in our hearts always.  Shes no more in pain.  Shes in a better place now. 


Aawa, as Aunty was popularly known loved to celebrate with family and friends. My family and I have known her for over 30 years. I have seen her will to overcome every hurdle and come out a Victor. She has been an inspiration for us to keep trying and learn until the very end. Her biography has shown her to be an enterprising woman. Not only did she run a day care for little children, but in her later years in Toronto, she was instrumental in bringing older women together. She participated and engaged them in the art of crochet and knitting. E-Aawa travelled widely with and without her grandchildren, when many of her generation were afraid to explore without the help of their young children. Aawa, you will remain in our hearts for your kind deeds. Thank you for sharing your life with us!

I remember aunty as such an energetic person, full of enthusiasm and love. She was always interested in learning new things. She was full of life and an inspiration to us .

Avva was the one that stood by us when we got married in 1998. She was the pillar of the family and held us all strong through sickness, health and happiness. Always a positive outlook and I want to say I had the privilege of a wave and a smile, from her hospital bed, even as she was quietly working through what i can only image was incredibly difficult. They always say you measure someone through what they left behind and if they made it a better place for the rest of us. Avva touched more lives than you can imagine and is one of the main reasons her kids, grand kids and extended family are better off because of her directly.
Rest in peace Avva and we will forever honor your memory. 

Will miss your vibrant and enthusiastic presence.  So glad that Mohan and  I could spend some time & interact with you last May that revived memories of Bhavna. Love you Maami. I am sure you'll be happy to join Maama and Ajit keep yourself cheerfully  occupied wherever you are and bless your near and dear ones.  Aruna,  Channu and Uma can rest assured that you are in a happier and peaceful space.

We lost a Beautiful Soul yesterday in Toronto, Canada! My Mother-in-law who I have known for over 36 yrs left for her heavenly abode. A totally selfless and gentle woman who always wanted to see everyone else smile and that would be her very reason to smile. An internet savvy one we called her e-Avva (Avva is Grandmother in South India), as she was always face-timing everyone around the planet from her hospital bed, wanting to catch up with all...
We know you are watching over us now and so wish we could FaceTime with you in heaven...
Nothing will fill the hole you have left in our hearts - we miss you so much Avva!

Sorry to hear of Krishnamurthy aunty's demise. Fondly recall the days in the early 70s when the only TV set in our building was in their home and none hesitated in gate crashing at any time of the day  to watch TV. She never had a harsh word or gesture.
It's been ages since I have seen her but her memory is so vivid.
God grant all you in the family the strength to bear this loss.

Thinking of Mami  the first thing that comes to mind is is her big bindi and smiling face and not to forget the joolas with children in the room It is nostalgic

I always think of Aunty as my second mother. A very caring and dynamic lady. 
She would keep snacks ready when Aruna and I would jump the wall during recess time in school. 
She was the one who was very supportive of everyone in her family and her house was always filled with guests coming and going. 
She was the one who would always keep in touch with me wherever I am whichever town, and I too would call her up and meet her when possible. 
I will always remember her as a strong, dynamic, and a very caring lady.

I fondly remember how I used to come to Bhavna Apartment from College all starved.
Mami would have made the yummiest of Bissibella Bhaat which was more than Food for Taste Buds. 
It was the Love with which She would serve and feed us that made her so different.  There were over a Dozen Kids in the Creche that She was running..  But each one got Her Love and Attention. 
That's remarkable. 
Truly Loving and Giving. 
That's Her.

Love and Hugs from that little Girl Sumi who still fondly recalls her warmth and care. 

My deepest condolences to the family members.   May her soul rest in peace.
