Beloved sister, auntie, and friend Margaret Bojin joined her parents in her heavenly home on Monday, December 4, 2023. She is remembered by her family, including her siblings Wendy (Ralph), Minda (Ken), and Tom (Pernille), her nieces and nephews, and her grand nephews and nieces.
Margaret was born in Toronto on June 28, 1950 to her parents Elizabeth and Thomas Bojin. Margaret was raised close to her loving family and community. Margaret faced many challenges in her life, including fighting and beating cancer, developmental disability and her most recent fight with her failing health. Despite all of these challenges, Margaret was a light, and a force to be reckoned with. She was one of the most loving people, and passed no judgments on others. Margaret really enjoyed exploring new restaurants with her family and always had a good laugh with her nieces. Once Margaret started laughing everyone had to join in, her laughter was the most contagious and lovely thing. Margaret enjoyed her many social activities: the Choir at Jumblies, art classes, and Friendship Club at the People’s Church. She thrived on social circles and gatherings, and loved to be surrounded by her friends and family. Her favourite flower was an orchid and she will always be remembered as beautiful as they are to her family. She passed away peacefully in the hospital surrounded by her siblings.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Jerrett Funeral home, located at 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto. Visitation will begin at 10:30am and the service will begin at 12:00pm with a reception to follow. The service will be offered online as well for family and friends who cannot join in person.
Thank you to all of the staff at Community Living Toronto for helping keep her in her own space; All the staff at 801 Dan Leckie who made her home a welcoming and caring place; The staff at the Toronto General for helping to ease her passing.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to honour Margaret’s altruism and caring spirit by encouraging donations to Community Living Toronto or Saint Vincent DePaul.
