Margaret Hudson Thomson, age 98, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026. Born on February 2, 1928, in Scotland, Margaret lived a long and steadfast life defined by resilience, independence, and quiet devotion to her family.
The oldest of five sisters—and the last of them to pass—Margaret carried the strength and practicality that often come with being the firstborn. She approached life with clear-eyed common sense and a deep sense of responsibility. Not one for grand or sentimental gestures, she showed her love in steady, dependable ways that left a lasting impression on those who knew her.
Margaret had a lifelong love of reading and was rarely without a book nearby. She greatly enjoyed traveling with her beloved husband, Frank, exploring new places and sharing those experiences together until his passing.
Above all, Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Family remained a constant in her life, and she approached those relationships with the same steadiness and practicality that defined her character.
She is survived by her sons, Raymond and Wayne, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank, and her four sisters.
The family extends sincere gratitude to the staff at Age Care Samac in Oshawa, where Margaret resided in her final years. Their kindness, patience, and attentive care were deeply appreciated and brought comfort to both Margaret and her family.
Margaret’s long life stands as a testament to strength, endurance, and quiet commitment. She will be remembered for her practicality, her independence, and the steady presence she provided to her family.
Visitation will be held at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, on March 20, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, followed by a Celebration of Life in the Chapel at 10:30 am.
