Maria Luisa Cabral

She and her beloved husband, the late Sebastiao Cabral, moved to Canada in their late twenties, where they began building the life and family she cherished so deeply.

They shared many years of love, laughter, and devotion until his passing in 2009.

Maria will be deeply missed by her devoted daughter Alda (Jose) Martins, grandchildren Christopher, Jeffrey, Ryan, and Katherine, and her six cherished great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind loving nieces, extended family, and her treasured cat, Jasmine.

Maria spent her working years in the kitchen of a nursing home, where her caring spirit shone through in the meals she lovingly prepared for others. She had a gift for cooking and delighted in gathering her family around the table. Fiercely spirited and full of laughter, she was happiest surrounded by her grandchildren and will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and strength.

A faithful Catholic, Maria’s life was rooted in family, faith, and service to others. She found joy in her traditions, strength in prayer, and comfort in the simple blessings of everyday life.

Her legacy of love, resilience, and generosity will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched. She will now be reunited with her dear husband Sebastiao, together again in eternal peace.

A visitation for Maria will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON M1K2B5. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM in the Chapel. Burial will occur at Pine Hills Cemetery - 625 Birchmount Rd, Toronto, ON M1K 1R1.
