Maria Cavasin

With great sadness we announce the passing of Maria Cavasin, on Monday March 30, 2026, at the age of 97 at the Humber River Hospital Toronto.

Maria (Cicci) is reunited with her beloved husband, Pasquale (Berto) (1997)

Maria was predeceased by her parents Luigi Antonio Pozzebon and Virginia Mattarollo, Paese, Treviso, Italy. Her siblings: Esau, Sr. Attilia Pozzebon, Anita (Casimiro), Guido, Marcello Ruffino (Virginia), Lino, Silvia (Luigi), Giuseppe (Angelina)(Mabel), and Teresa (Evaristo).

Maria was born in Paese, Treviso, Italy and was the youngest of 11 children. She immigrated to Canada in 1955 to start a new life, where she met and married the love of her life Pasquale (Berto) in 1956.

Maria was a dedicated member of Piave Trevisano Club and Veneto Federation in Woodbridge. She had a deep passion for life.

She will be remembered by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A special thank you to the staff at Villa Colombo Toronto for making Villa her home for the past 6 years. Maria deeply appreciated your kindness, care and support.

Many thanks to the caring doctors and nurses at Humber River Hospital for the care, comfort, and dignity, you showed Maria, during her final journey.

Visitation will take place at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 1141 St Clair Ave West, Toronto, ON M6E1B1, CA, on April 11, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at the same location from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Entombment will follow at Prospect Cemetery, 1450 St Clair Ave W, Toronto, ON M6E 1C6, CA, on April 11, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
