Maria De Sousa Massa Medeiros passed away peacefully with her family by her side, after a long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy on February 13, 2024 at Michael Garron Hospital. She is survived by her husband Gilbert of 47 years, her children Sally (Chris), Audrey (Joe), Gilbert, Jr. (Alyssa), her eight grandchildren and great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sisters Elizabeth, Linda, Adrienne and Susanna and their children.
Maria is pre-deceased by her parents Manuel and Adriana Massa and her brother Manuel, Jr.
Maria will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who was devoted to her family and loved every moment she spent with them. We will always remember her for her pleasant and calm nature that always gave us a warm feeling while in her presence.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all her PSWs and the staff at Michael Garron Hospital for their compassionate care.
A visitation for Maria will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON M1K2B5. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON M1K2B5. A burial at Pine Hills Cemetery will occur following the service.
