Maria was born on September 11, 1937 in Baucina, Sicily, Italy and passed away on August 23, 2024 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the age of 86 years.
Beloved wife and best friend of Arrigo for 63 years. loving mother of Sandra Pezzetta (Michael Paterna), Lino Pezzetta (Laurie) and cherished Nonna of Stefano (Valentina), Michael, Amelia and Alexandra.
She will be dearly missed by her sisters Giuseppina, Sara and by her many nieces, nephews and their families. Maria will be loved and forever remembered by all of her family and friends.
Maria has been reunited in Heaven with her beloved parents Rosaria and Filippo Granato and with her siblings Fortunata, Francesca, Giuseppe, Rosa and Andrea.
Maria was a remarkable, kind, loving, and resilient woman who had an incredible gift for making everyone feel at home. She was an amazing cook, effortlessly preparing comforting meals for everyone that walked through her door. She took great pride in her garden, which was as vibrant and full of life as she was. Her distinct sense of humor and deep love for her family made her the cornerstone of many cherished traditions and values. Having built a beautiful life with her best friend and husband of 63 years, Arrigo, Maria leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and enduring values that will forever be treasured by those who knew her.

Family and friends may visit at the Delmoro Funeral Home, 61 Beverly Hills Dr., (near Wilson and Jane) on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 2-4 pm & 6-9 pm.
The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, August 30, 2024 at St Philip Neri Church at 10:00 am.
PLEASE NOTE: On the morning of the Mass, we would ask that all friends go directly to the church allowing the family some private time prior to the service.

Your patience, kindness, and unwavering dedication brought comfort to her and to our family during some of the most challenging times. Your compassionate care provided not just physical support but also emotional solace, which meant the world to us. We will forever be thankful for the way you treated her with dignity, respect, and love. Your presence was a true blessing, and we cannot thank you enough for being there for her—and for us—every step of the way
