Marjorie Ruth PARKINSON

January 9, 1926July 21, 2020

PARKINSON, Marjorie (née Daw) - It is with great sadness we announce that Marjorie Parkinson passed away peacefully, on Tuesday July 21, 2020, at 94 years of age.

Marjorie will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her beloved husband of 60 years Roy, her cherished children Kathleen Hopper (Bill) and Ian (Carolyn), her treasured grandchildren Andrew Hopper (Monica), Daniel Hopper (Jocelyn) and Thomas Hopper, as well as her great-grandchildren Benjamin and Edward Hopper.

Born and raised in Toronto, Marjorie was shaped by her large and loving family including parents William and Lila Daw, brothers Charles (Lorna) and Frederick (June), sister Mary (Lewis), brothers-in-law Melville (Betty), Grenville and Warren, sister-in-law Marjorie, as well as her many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Heartfelt thanks to Barbara Huth for her years of friendship and thoughtful attention, and sincere thanks to Dr. S. K. Paul Chan for his compassionate care and professionalism.

Throughout her long life Marjorie was a woman of quiet strength and integrity, who loved her family and friends. As a mother, grandmother, sister and friend she tenderly nurtured those close to her, and her deep love, strong values, and kind spirit will be carried on in our hearts.

Cremation has taken place and due to the unprecedented situation with COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to hold a private celebration of life with immediate family

Our condolences to the Parkinson family on the passing of Marjorie.

Marjorie was a lovely, energetic woman who always had a ready smile and a positive attitude. We never heard her complain and her energy inspired us. She will be missed by her Neville Park neighbours.

I am so sorry to hear of Marjorie’s passing - my sincere condolences to all of the Parkinson’s.

For so many years I would see Marjorie and Roy as they were coming back from their morning walk. There was always a cheery hello, a smile and a short chat with both.

I will really miss that neighbourly interaction. I am sure that the rest of Neville Park will feel the same.

Marjorie and Roy were inspirations in their early morning walks for coffee and she never seemed to be out of Roy's company. Marjorie always had a cheerful disposition and whenever encountering a neighbour, wanted to engage in a friendly chat to catch up. I don't ever recall her uttering a harsh view or judgement.

She was a gem and I'll miss her.

Marjorie was our wonderful friend and neighbour for the last 15 years. We'll remember her as small but mighty in her kindness, happiness, positivism and warmth. We know she leaves a strong legacy and very large shoes to fill in the Parkinson family, and no doubt she will be dearly missed. All of us send our biggest virtual hugs especially to Roy, but to all of our dearest Neville Park neighbours. xoxo Leanne, Marcel, Madelyn, Sydney and Arthur (and of course Dolly, Fred, Cheeko, Chili, Rosie, Doris and Lola)
