He is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Maria, daughters Michela (Michael Verwaayen) and Marijke (Liv Leavitt); his mother Susi, and siblings Hank-John (Janet Reinink), Barbara (Larry Gousvaris) and Cathy-Ann.
He also leaves in mourning his extended family, relatives and numerous friends, as well as the St. Thomas’s Church community, where he had participated in the choir since 1990.
A dedicated teacher, accomplished scholar, lover of classical and choral music, traveller, and writer, Martin was a man of passion and talent. He infectiously shared those passions with his students and many life-long friends. His wit, loyalty and constance will be deeply missed.
Martin delighted in writing, in composing music, playing and singing in community. He loved spending time at the family farm on Varty Lake with his loved ones. He was, above all else, a devoted husband and father. The greatest joys of his life were his wife and daughters.
