Mary Margaret MacInnis

1935-2025

It is with much sadness to share that Mary has passed away peacefully with her family present, at the golden age of 89.

Mary will be deeply missed by her devoted daughter, Louena (Steve) and loving grandchildren, Adam (Ana) and Kathryn (George).

Mary was the second child of four children. She is predeceased by her parents, John and Amy as well as her brothers; Bobby, Tommy and Larry.

Mary had a career as a professional secretary and later an Executive Assistant before she retired. She was a trail blazer and advocate for equality and woman’s rights. She had an infectious laugh that would brighten any room.

Mary deeply loved her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sharing her knowledge, traveling the world and sharing in all celebrations.

Mary was an avid baseball fan that started in the 1950s when she would attend the International Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Team at Christie Pits in Toronto. Mary was particularly excited when the Toronto Blue Jays started in 1976. She was a member of the Blue Jay Fan Club and would take every opportunity to see them play in person.

Mary was a Christian and from her earliest days, she embraced God’s love and was devout in her faith. Her faith was not just part of her life; it was the foundation upon which she built everything.

Mary was charitable with her time and talents in helping the church. Mary held many roles within the church that she will be fondly remembered for.

Mary was also unassuming with her compassion, charity and kindness when helping others.

Mary was the anchor and our moral compass when we felt lost. She believed in us even when we doubted ourselves. Her strength and resilience will live on through us.

Thanks to the Harmony Hills Care Community Team for the care and support they provided Mary for over 12 1/2 years; especially, Amabelle, Charity, Marjorie, Penny and Zaida.

As we say goodbye, our hearts ache with the depth of your loss. You will be missed more than words could ever express. The world seems a bit dimmer without your light.

We will find solace in the beautiful memories you created, in the love we shared, in the lessons you taught us and the values you instilled in us.

Though you are no longer with us physically, your love remains a part of us.

Funeral will be held on Friday January 31st, 2025

Visitation 1-2pm

Service at 2pm

Family and friends may gather on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 1:00 PM at Giffen-Mack & Trull Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON M4C1L3 (northeast corner of Danforth Ave. and Main Street). Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel of the Funeral Home at 2:00 PM.
