Maurice Hampden Chung

After a lengthy illness at The Scarborough General Hospital, he was transferred to Providence (Palliative Care) Health Centre, Scarborough, where he passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 24, 2018.

Maurice was born in British Guiana to Esther (Ching) and John Chung. He attended Central High School in Georgetown where he graduated with a Junior Cambridge Certificate. He worked at Guyana Electricity Cooperation and acquired a Dale Carnegie Sales Diploma. Later he immigrated to Canada with his family. He was an avid reader, enjoyed coin collecting and liked a good debate. He contributed to his favourite charitable organizations.

Maurice is survived by his children with Margaret: Debra (Gregory), Christopher (Isis), Mark (Ray), Warren (Monique). Brother of the late Enid Lamwatt, Hubert (Shirley). Grandfather of Arianna, Raider, Isabelle. Many nieces and nephews. In lieu of floral tributes, memorial donations can be made to The Scarborough Hospital Foundation (General Campus). The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff for their compassionate care.

A Celebration of Maurice’s Life will take place at Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Road, (South of Eglinton), Toronto, ON Monday, April 2, 2018. Visitation at 10:00am followed by a memorial service at 11:00am.
