It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our irreplaceable mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Mebrat H. Kuflu at St Michael Hospital Friday, July 25 2014, surrounded by her loved ones. She was our foundation, and our strength; never shying away from a challenge and never daunted by the odds. Her last difficult days were met with courage as always, and in keeping with her indomitable spirit. Born in Asmara (Eritrea) raised in Assab and Keren under Italian occupation, she enjoyed the last 36 years of her life in Toronto. Daughter of Habtu Kuflu of Adi Gebrai and Medhin Hailu of Adi Quala. Beloved mother of Mohamed, Zena and Yonas. Predeceased by her sister Abeba, her brother Kidane, and her sister Anna. Adored grandmother of nine, and great-grandmother of five. Private family arrangements entrusted to Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Basil Catholic Church, 50 St Joseph St, Toronto on Tuesday, August 5th, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery.
