June 27, 1928 – March 3, 2015

Passed away peacefully on March 3rd, 2015 at Toronto East General Hospital in his 87th year. Loving husband of Patricia (Nee Sanderson). Wonderful father of Tom (Eileen), Michele (Peter), Glynis (Al) and Meredith. Fun Grandfather to Michele, Sarah, Alexander, Duncan and Clara. Mike was a longtime employee of the City of Toronto for 33 years. His family would like to thank all of the staff at Toronto East General Hospital for all of their care and compassion during his time there. A visitation will be held at GIFFEN-MACK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE (2570 Danforth Ave. Toronto, Ontario, 416-698-3121) on Sunday, March 8th, 2015 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the Giffen-Mack Chapel on Monday, March 9th, 2015 at 11:00 am. All are invited to attend a Reception directly following the service in the Giffen-Mack lounge.

Whenever I walk to Suffern along the Erie track

I go by a poor old farmhouse with its shingles broken and black.

I suppose I've passed it a hundred times, but I always stop for a minute

And look at the house, the tragic house, the house with nobody in it.

If I had a lot of money and all my debts were paid

I'd put a gang of men to work with brush and saw and spade.

I'd buy that place and fix it up the way it used to be

And I'd find some people who wanted a home and give it to them free.
