Grandpa, as you are laid to rest today with Grandma I can't help but reflect on how much I love and will miss you.
I was lucky enough to spend a great deal of my childhood growing up not only under the same roof but getting to spend a lot of time with you and Grandma.
I have many great memories of our time together and I will always cherish them.
You were so talented with your artistic abilities and I learned a lot from you just by watching the way you worked. Work didn't end when you clocked out. There was washing the car, yard work and daily chores. Always something to do. 
One of my all time favourite memories is when you gave me the amazing hand drawn goalie that was so lifelike. At the time I was probably to young to understand the time it took to make but it is something I will always remember.
I have a passion for watching baseball because of you. I even enjoy listening to the broadcast on the radio as we were not always able to watch games on TV as we can now.
I have countless memories that I will always be able to look back on. 
Unfortunately given the circumstances we will not be able to attend the service today, however you are in my thoughts and prayers as you are laid to rest.
I am so thankful and proud to be your Grandson you helped shape me into the man I am today.

My siblings and I were blessed to have been raised under Ruth and Nobby's roof.
It was a home full of love, laughter, food and Blue Jays games.
Grandpa loved his family dearly - and we all adored him!
Grandpa took pride in his home which was obvious in his non-stop hard-working tinkering and fixing, gardening and weeding, cleaning and organizing.
I can recall in his late eighties he was still shovelling snow from the driveway, fixing the roof on his garage and carrying laundry hampers up and down the stairs.
There was a quiet sophistication in his dress, a cheeky curl in his grin and his laughter was so infectious!
I’m so sad that you are gone, but so happy that you have been reunited with your love Ruth, and my late father, Douggie.
You will forever be missed.
You are so loved.
Your legend will live on through us.

I am thankful to Dad for many pleasant memories.

I remember Dad taking us when we were young on several summer vacation trips to Russell Ave. in Ottawa to visit his and Mom's families.  Those trips were very enjoyable and among my favourite childhood memories.  

I also remember going with Dad many times to a Japanese bowling league; he was a very good bowler.  I also remember playing family baseball in the backyard; as I recall Dad was usually the pitcher.  He was a very good baseball player in his younger days.  

I remember helping Dad to finish the basement and learning to use basic tools like a saw and hammer.  I also remember helping to dig new garden plots in the backyard at our home on Ferris Rd, something that came in very handy over the years at our own home here in Oakville, where over the years most of our yard has been changed into garden plots.

I am thankful for these and many other pleasant memories, but even more importantly, I would like to thank Dad for teaching me, through his excellent example, about the value of hard work, responsibility, and dedication to family.

Thanks for everything Dad!

A piece of my heart went with you the day you said goodbye. I miss you so much but know that you are now with Mom and Doug. I couldn’t ask for a better Father thank you for giving me life. All the memories I hold of you will never go away. From childhood to woman you were always there for me. The love and respect I have for will never, ever fade.  Your in my heart and thoughts for everyday that we shared For now we say goodbye until we are together once more. I love you Dad and know you will be watching over us all. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Noboru in person, he touched my heart every time I saw a photo of him. Gentle kindness in his eyes, and welcoming comfort in his smiles, always made me feel so grateful to be under the same sky as him. It's no wonder that he left such an impactful legacy in the amazing family that he and  Ruth created. Truly inspirational.

After having read Julie’s heartfelt dedication, it is obvious how truly fortunate Uncle Nobby and Aunt Ruth were in having such an extensive and beloved family of three generations. How happy your family reunions must be! With so many who loved them, their memory and spirit will be cherished for generations to come. To each of your families, my sincerest condolences for your loss.

My Dear Uncle Nobby - 
The last time I saw you and Aunt Ruth was a very long time ago in Ottawa. It was the day of my father’s funeral. And I remember the one thing that brightened that terrible day for me was noticing your white shoes in a sea of black attire. It made me smile. And I thought it was very much in keeping with your bright approach to life. Not long after that encounter, I moved away to California. We always think there will be other occasions to see distant family. I am sorry I didn’t see you again. I am sorry that you are gone. I will continue to recall with profound affection your kindness and generosity, In your new life away from this earth, I wish you eternal serenity.

In warmest embrace to Nancy, Bob, Janet, Julie and Teri, please know that Naomi and I share in your sorrow over the loss of the wonderfully good man that was your father.

A lover of baseball, golf, fine cars and scratch cards! I will always remember your sweet face and quiet demeanour, grandpa. And how you would always snatch up our plates and wash them the moment we took the last delicious bite of grandmas food when we visited! Most of all thank you for the gift of my wonderful mother. What can I say about my "second dad" (I'm sure you thought I had actually moved in, didn't you? Lol)? I'll always remember the tranquility and kindness you exuded, as well as your awesome (!) artistic talent--you're still such an inspiration to me, and your sense of humour! How wonderful it is that you and my "second mom," Ruth, are now together, and that, along with Doug, you're waiting for us and watching over us all till then. ❤ 

I love how I was able to spend time with my favorite guy the last years of his life. Ill always love you and i miss you a lot grandpa. I know your up there with gramma and uncle dougie. Ill always b thinking of you.
