I am so deeply saddened to hear of Norm's passing.  I first got to know Norm as a patient in 2016 and we instantly bonded.  He was such a kind and thoughtful man and I always looked forward to our visits where we would chat about a wide range of topics and he could always make me laugh with his wonderful sense of humour.  In recent months, Norm was helping my husband and I buy our first home and I cannot thank him enough for his tireless efforts, his wisdom and his patience.  I just cannot say enough good things about Norm and I am going to miss him dearly.  My deepest condolences. 

There are just no words that can adequately express what is my heart. No words, to convey the  tribute to Norm that  he so deserves.   Yet at this time, words are all we have to try to articulate  the deep love and respect for Norman Jones. 

Growing up, Norm from Mardi Gras Florist was a household name.  Later, I reconnected with Norm in the real estate industry.  He became a close colleague and good friend.  He was my greatest supporter.  Anyone who knows Norm , knows that is what he does. Norm was a supporter of people.  He supported charities,  he supported other agents and his clients.  He  supported his political parties and he supported his family and friends. 

 Norm  took me under his wing and  set me up in my first office for me – Tim Hortons at Victoria Park and Ellesmere.  Norm was a great supporter of the real estate industry.  He was always learning.     He really enjoyed the CMHC market updates and especially the seminars when economists were presenting.    He even came to some social media seminars, but we all know he was really coming to support me not to learn twitter.  Norm taught me good old fashioned face to face, not facebook,  was how you developed relationships. 

Norm and fund raising were synonymous. There were many stories. In recent years, he brought those skills and his contagious enthusiasm to the Scarborough Breakfast Club and raised well over $100,000 for the Sunshine Kids.     

I will always cherish every memory, especially being his date at his annual Christmas party, fun at Woodbine Racetrack and our phone calls.

I believe that Norm left this world with not much in his bank account, but what I do know, is  that Norm was the richest man I  have known.  Norm’s life is a reminder to me that the most important asset in life is that of human relationship. 

I will miss Norm dearly, but know that he will always be with me in spirit.

I’m very sad to hear of Norm’s passing. What a great colleague! He was a ray of light and a very giving person - tirelessly smiling and volunteering for Sunshine Kids. I met him about 20 years ago and my dad (who’s passed) also new him in real estate. A true inspiration as a person and as a realtor. His smile, kindness and charity work will always be cherished by all whose lives he touched. Sincere condolences to the Jones family. Norm will be missed and always remembered. 

Norm was such a truly amazing & unique man ... a true professional committed to service to his clients & friends, to our community of fellow Realtors and he was SO inspired to organize us all to help those in serious need, especially children! Norman Thomas Edward Jones passed away suddenly on January 27, 2019, in a car accident north of Toronto, at the age of 94. Norman was born on September 11, 1924, on the family farm outside of Kindersley, Saskatchewan, the son of Richard (Jack) Jones and Kathleen Jones (nee Howe), who had emigrated from England in 1919. Norm was raised on the family farm during the challenging 1930's Depression. Norman was anxious to join the military at the outbreak of World War II in 1939. He misrepresented his age, and joined the Royal Canadian Navy at the age of 15, and served throughout the war as a Petty Officer on a mine sweeper. Following World II, Norman settled in Saskatoon, and entered the automotive parts and garage supply business, selling throughout Saskatchewan. In 1949, Norman moved to Tisdale, in 1953 to Regina, and in 1962 to Toronto.

In 1947, Norman married Lea Normandeau in Saskatoon. They divorced in the mid 1960's.

In 1968, Norman founded The Mardi Gras Florist with his son, Richard Alan Jones,, which developed three locations in metro Toronto, and was a very successful and profitable business for the next 20 years. This business was successfully sold in 1988. Norman then worked occasionally in real estate sales and commission sales for other companies.

Norman Jones was predeceased by his brother, Ronald, and.is survived by his son, Richard Alan Jones, and his sister, Evelyn (Robertson) of Kelowna, B.C.

Norm and I go way back in real estate. We worked together in the same office for many years. One of my fondest memories of Norm was at the Christmas parties he would wear a Christmas tie that lit up and went off and on.  He lit up the room.  Always happy and smiling and joking.  Always a caring man.  He will be missed.

Norm was a truly special person and a pleasure to work with either as a realtor or volunteering with him on his many fundraising events. He will be greatly missed. 
I knew Norm from his business in the neighbourhood well before he became a realtor. He was a community icon and will be greatly missed.

Norman Jones was a sweet heart!   He was always thinking about others and he loved the charity work he did.   I first met Norm at the Pickering Breakfast Club where he recruited many of us to help with the Sunshine Kids foundation.   He was tireless in his efforts to help others.   I never heard him say a mean thing about anyone.   In business Norm was a true professional.   He always had a smile on his face.  Individuals like Norm are rare in this world and he has left a void with his passing.   Norm may be gone but he will not be forgotten.  My sincere condolences to the family and his friends; may the peace of the Lord and support of friends bring you comfort.

Our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies go out to Norman's family and friends. We only got to know him in a professional capacity from the real estate business, but thought of him with great respect and high regard.  Whenever we met at a meeting or open house, he was always friendly, smiling, fun, kind and a  pleasure to be around.  We're so sorry to learn of his passing and he'll be sadly missed.

Where do I begin to even scratch the surface of what Norm meant to me not to mention the hundreds of other's he touched.  The thought of trying to pick only one memory to share is so very difficult as he and I shared many. I've known Norm for over 15 yrs and we had been partners in real estate for the last four.  The one thing I can say with certainty is that he was the ultimate man of sales, endurance and more importantly an unwavering sense of integrity.  Norm undeniably lead with his heart and gave more than he had....and still kept giving!! 
The one memory that brings a smile to my face and I will gladly share is that I always called him my "Wing-man....Goose"  and I was his "Wing-man Maverick". Although he'd never seen the movie "Top Gun" but promised he'd watch it,  I know he knew, it was a sincere term of endearment. 
Although I will be flying solo from here on in, I will miss him terribly but I have my faith and know he will always be close by and more importantly, always in my heart.
