Born in Cerzeto, Calabria, Italy on October 20, 1930, Nonno lived a life filled with warmth, light, and the kind of kindness that leaves lasting impressions on all those who crossed his path.
Reunited now with his beloved wife Rosaria “Sarina”(2008), whose passing marked a turning point in his life, Nonno chose to honour her memory by embracing every moment with grace, presence, and gratitude. He turned grief into growth and became a guiding light for his family and community showing all that no matter what life throws at you, you’ve got to “keep going.”
If Nonno were a colour, he would be yellow—sunshine itself. He spent nearly 17 years after Sarina’s passing surrounding himself with warmth and light, and in turn, radiated positivity, kindness, and love to everyone around him. Whether in a heartfelt conversation, a warm smile, or a simple nod to a stranger on the street, Nonno had a way of touching lives with genuine compassion and joy. Outgoing and social, he had a natural ability to connect—and he did so generously.
He will be profoundly missed by his sons: Tony (Tania), Aldo (Lindsay), and Greg (Asia).
Cherished Nonno to Dryden, Sol, Gemma, Augustino and Marly.
Beloved Grand-paw to his loyal companions: Matteo, Tina, and Jeans.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 20th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by entombment at Westminster Cemetery and Mausoleum.
In honour of Nonno, live in the moment, smile at a stranger, and carry the sunshine with you.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ontario SPCA the Humane Society Animal Charity, reflecting Novellino's love for animals.
