Olga I still cannot believe that your gone from this world.  It seems like only yesterday that we were hanging out and going on vacations.  You were an amazing godsister. You always treated everyone with love and respect. You had that special quality that everyone wishes they had.  You helped so many in your short life.  You accomplished more than most.  You will never be forgotten. I miss you and love you always. I know I will see you again, flashing that big smile, saying Hey Dude! What took you so long?

The first time I met Olga was at a hockey arena.  I was still a student, working as a part-time rink guard and Olga was part of a women's hockey league at the same facility. I remember she walked out of the dressing room, and as my wife was introducing me to her cousin, Olga quickly jumped in and joked about how bad the women's locker rooms smelled. The two things about Olga that I remember most from this brief first encounter, which have always stuck with me over the years, was her her sense of humour and her smile.

Now to be honest, I cannot claim that I knew Olga very well. We would bump into eachother perhaps once a year at some family function, and have a quick chat; Nevertheless, every time we did bump into eachother over the years, her beautiful smile and her sense of humour always seemed to follow her. She was simply one of those people who had a zest for life and was truly happy; a happiness that was infectious to all those around her. Life's circumstances did not seem to define her but rather her upbeat happiness defined her life.

The last time I saw Olga was just a couple weeks ago at a family wedding.  Olga was preparing to leave for the evening and we bumped into eachother and chatted for a good ten minutes.  In her usual cheerful and enthousiastic manner she told me how happy she was to have purchased a house north of the city.  She went on to say how much she enjoyed her new home, her work and the beautiful nature surrounding her new neighbourhood. The last thing I said to her before kissing her goodby was; "but aren't you lonely all the way up there?"  She looked at me and grinned with that amazing smile and said;    "No, I'm so happy and always surrounded by friends".

Those final words have echoed in my heart and my thoughts ever since I heard the tragic news of her passing.  I personally cannot explain or understand how such a seemingly sensless tragedy could happen to such a wonderful person; nor do I have any words that can provide true comfort to her family and friends; Quite simply, there are no such words. The one thing that I am certain of is this, if our spirit does continue to live on, Olga's humour, happiness and beautifull smile are alive and well and remain with her eternally.  Perhaps we can all take some solace in her final words that summer  evening, "I am so happy and always surrounded by friends".

Though I only met Olga one weekend at a hockey tournament, she left a lasting impression with her charismatic smile, honest character and zest for life. Sincerest condolences to her loving family and friends.

I met Olga when I was a faculty member of the George Brown College Intervenor Program. Olga was an excellent student, a motivator, and I absolutely loved her curiousity and spunk.

Upon graduation, I had the great fortune of having Olga join the Deaf-Blind Services Provincial Team in the Literacy Program and the Intervenor Services Program. Over the years I watched her shine brighter, our  diamond in the rough became a treasure to so many people.  Olga had touched some many lives and will be greatly missed.

A beautiful person, a beautiful mind, a beautiful energy...may our memories and your life be eternal.

We knew Olga only through her family and cousins, seen in so many of these pictures, and are deeply saddened to hear of her passing. We send our love to her family, and know they will keep her spirit alive with their incredible memories of times spent with her.

Olga you were such a bright light in this world.  You loved life to its fullest and always had a smile on your face.  I feel blessed to have known you and to have had the opportunity to work with you.  May you find rest with the Lord.

Hard to believe that Olga has gone. She helped me through some of my darkest hours and drove me many miles to the eye clinic in Mississauga. Sometimes we left Minden at 7a.m. to  be there for a 10a.m. appointment.
Olga would attempt anything to give joy to others like driving through three feet of snow to visit me. So many memories. I now live in England and was hoping to see her here this month. Condolences to her family.

Olga had ZeST for Life! She loved helping others and being around others as well. I only known her for short time and was with her few times relating to work. This is a shock and sudden for us all.  Olga now in good hands and over looking us. Olga is doing what she likes up there playing hockey, sitting on her surfboard, hanging out with dogs, and so forth. See the sunshines? I met Olga about 16 years ago; we worked at the same group home.  It soon became apparent that Olga would become one of the most genuine, humourous, beautiful, caring, and clever women I would know.  Like so many others, I was shocked by her passing.  Still, warm and happy memories of her adventures are slowly taking the place of sadness.  That has become her greatest gift to me.  Her zest towards life, and her easy going nature are strengths we can all aspire to.  I am a better person for having known her.  I'll never forget you.  Thanks Olga.

I met Olga in the 90s when we both worked at a group home for deaf-blind adults.  Once she introduced me to a unique group of Intervenors in Richmond Hill, we became a family still simply referred to as Stephenson house.  She embraced life and gave everything of herself to the world, unselfishly.  I am forever changed since the day she came into my life, I am blessed to know her.  Trips to the cottage, laughing til we cried, and being brutally honest with each other are just some of the memories I cling to. I am so sad Olga that I can no longer physically hug you. Olga was my placement supervisor at CNIB - she taught and demonstrated compassion, respect, humor and joy in everything she did. Consumer's and colleagues loved her equally. I never heard her gripe, I never heard any malice. Olga was the very definition of joy. That joy was spread to everyone she touched. We all aim to make the world a better place - Olga succeeded by touching so many lives, so many hearts. Olga spoke of her family with love, irreverence and respect. Please accept my deepest of sympathies; I wish you peace during your journey in grief. Thank you for sharing your special daughter, sister, cousin with us. We are all better for it. I had the privilege of knowing Olga in my high school years through her wonderful family.  They always welcomed me with open arms into their homes and treated me like family.  Olga always put a smile on my face and was the light in the room.  Olga, you are a fine example of a strong woman, who loved life, family, and friends.  My memory of you will never fade.  To the Contogeorgos family, my thoughts and prayers are with you, and well as the rest of the family.  Till we meet again Olga.

I enjoyed Olga's annual visits to CNIB Lake Joe.  I was always impressed and excited at the impact she had on our staff teams when she shared her knowledge and so much of herself!  She was an amazing soul and will be greatly missed.  My thoughts are with family, friends and everyone touched by this amazing person.

Our family was so blessed to have met Olga when she came to spend time with our mother, Ruth Whyte, at a nursing home in Meaford. Olga always brightened Mom's day and went to bat for Mom when she needed to get more help. Our deepest condolences to her family. May God bless you and give you peace at this time. We will miss you Olga!

Olga was assigned through CNIB to visit my mom, Ruth Whyte in the Meaford Nursing Home. She visited every Tuesday, sometimes with ice cream but always with smiles and lots of laughter! She treated my mom like family, always looking out for her and calling to inform the family if she thought anything was wrong. We had several good chats over the years and we considered Olga a friend. She will be missed and our thoughts and prayers go out to her family at this time.

I had the privilege of not only knowing Olga through hockey but also to the start of her golfing debut! One time we went golfing at some rinky dink golf course and it seemed like we were the only ones there. Well Olga kept hitting the balls into the woods. About halfway through the game the maintenance man drove up to us in his lawnmower and said in a toothless grin "I've been watching you girls play ...thought you might want these golf balls that I found in the woods." He then handed two big handfuls to Olga. "Thanks dude, you're the best!" was Olga's reply. A short time later she hit all those new-found golf balls back into the bush. But did we laugh about it that morning!!!
It hurts to know that Olga will not be at the hockey rink ready to give me a nifty pass. If life was a hockey game, I can assure you that Olga would get the player of the game. Will miss her tons!

I was blessed to be able to work with Olga, I will never forget her crazy scheme's and what she was willing to do for a good laugh. Olga, I will miss your smile, your laugh and your 'DUDE'! My thought's and prayers are with Olga's family and friends.

I had the privilege of knowing Olga through my sister; she lived for almost 2 years in my house in her own apartment. It is hard to believe that Olga who was full of life, with her unforgettable big smile is no longer with us. Dear Olga you had a big heart, and a determined personality. I remember you making BBQ steak outside in minus 15 degrees when it was snowing; I remember your love for your Dogs Peanut and Tia. You will be missed. RIP

I had the huge privilege of working with Olga at CNIB in Barrie.  I'm am so saddened by her sudden death.  She will be so missed by everyone who knew her.  Please accept my deepest sympathies.

She was always the brightest light in the room.  I'd never seen her in a bad mood and she always had these amazing, determined plans to be better at everything she did.  She was so kind, caring and warm.   I only wish I'd gotten to know her better.  She left her handprint on so many hearts.  And that handprint is certainly that of a hockey glove. Olga always had a smile on her face and brought a great deal of passion and sportsmanship to her hockey game. Olga was always asking if anyone needed players so that she could pick up extra ice time.
