It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ottavio Valentini on August 17, 2023 at the age of 92. Ottavio passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the home he built.

He was a devoted husband of Bianca for 66 years. Loving father to Marisa (Joe), Massimo (Penny), Mike (Cathy), Saverio (Paula), Mara (Bryan), Sabrina (Brian) and Marco (Sonia). Nonno will be dearly remembered by his 15 grandchildren Samantha, Jacob (Laura), Andrew, Bryan, Casey, Emma, Adam, Nyssa, Ava, Livia, Emilia, George, Bianca, Jack, and Katie. Ottavio was born in Laurignano, Cosenza, Italy in January 1931. He married Bianca Miceli on March 24th, 1957 and came to Toronto in October. He began his career as a brick layer and built his own business in the construction industry as a contractor. He was well respected by everyone he worked with because of his work ethics which he instilled onto his children. He cherished his role as Nonno. His Grandchildren meant everything to him. From daily phone calls to singing songs, he laughed, played and always looked forward to his time with them. He enjoyed bocce, playing cards, fishing, horses and his birds. He loved being outside, spent many hours on his deck watching, feeding, whistling and being entertained by his birds, especially the cardinal. He will always be remembered for his incredible strength, determination, generosity, kindness, loyalty sweet nature and sense of humor. He had a long, beautiful full life that also brought him many physical challenges. He faced them with dignity and an unprecedented strength right until the end. He was respected and loved by so many. His commitment and love for his family was everything to him. Our sincere gratitude to the PSW's and nurses for the special care and love they extended to Papa and family. He will be greatly missed, happily remembered, and will remain in all our hearts forever. We will treasure the memories

Because we love him, we will never lose him, for he will always be loved, remembered, and treasured in our memories.
