With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Pasquale Ruberto "The most handsome man", who passed away on February 22, 2026, just weeks after the loss of his beloved wife, on January 5, 2026. After 56 years of marriage, he is now reunited with Joan Ruberto the love of his life.
Pat was born on June 24, 1942, in Sambiase, Italy, he immigrated to Canada in 1960 with courage, determination and hope of building a better future. Through hard work and dedication, he established a 60+ year career as a barber. His shop was a place of friendship, conversation and community. It was during the start of his career, that he met the woman who would become his wife and life long partner, beginning a beautiful 56-year marriage blessed with three children and four grandchildren.
Family and friends meant everything to him. He was a devoted husband and loving father, whose greatest joy came from being surrounded by the people he loved right until the end.
He had a deep love for travel and was happiest in the sunshine — especially at the beach, whether walking along the shores of Sandbanks or relaxing at a sunny destination down south. He also cherished his trips to Australia, where the time spent with extended family meant the world to him. Those visits were filled with laughter, connection, and memories he carried close to his heart.
He cherished his daily walks, until he no longer could. Every summer he took pride in tending his garden where he grew his tomatoes, green beans and peppers as well as many other vegetables and herbs.
He also loved taking photographs. He would always say when family was together “One day, they’ll be all that’s left – so take the picture for the memories.” Those words now hold even deeper meaning, as the countless photos have now become treasured memories of the life he shared.
He was the devoted father to Gennaro (Donna), Amedeo (Tiffany), and Carmela (Larry). Pasquale was a proud Nonno, to his cherished grandchildren, Alyssa, Xavier, Niven, and Nevaeh.
He was the beloved brother of Amedeo (predeceased)(Maria), Antonio (Giovanna), and Anna (Mario), and is now reunited with his parents, Gennaro and Maria Ruberto.
His passing leaves an immeasurable void, but we take comfort in knowing he is once again beside his beloved Joan. He will be forever remembered for his unwavering love for his family and friends.
If desired, the family kindly requests that donations in memory of Pasquale Ruberto be made to Diabetes Canada.
