Flood, Patricia ( Pat) Marie, --- Passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Hospital on Sunday, February 28th 2010 at the 17 minute mark of the third period of Canada’s gold medal hockey game. She obviously had inside information by then on the result of the game.
Daughter of the late Norbert Flood and Marjorie Flood (Queenan) of London, Ontario. Beloved sister of Brian M. Flood and sister-in-law of Patricia Flood (the other Pat Flood). Loving and proud Aunt of Michael W. Flood (Jill Burgin) and Christopher J. Flood and Great Aunt of Samantha (6), Sarah (4) and Charlotte (2). Adoring mistress of her dear companion Lucy the dog.
Pat devoted her life to teaching, beginning at the age of nineteen in London and then in Toronto where she spend the last 20 years of her career as a Principal in a number of inner-city schools. She loved the kids and worked hard to get to know them and guide them. She equally loved her staff, many of whom remained close to her to the end. Through teaching Pat gained a huge group of friends. And what wonderful, loyal friends they were – a constant and enduring source of support, comfort and fun for Pat, and Pat for each of them.
Friends may call at the TRULL “NORTH TORONTO” FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE 2704 Yonge St. (5 blocks south of Lawrence Ave.) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at BLESSED SACRAMENT CHURCH, (Yonge St. South of Lawrence Ave.) at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow.
If friends so desire, instead of flowers a donation may be made in Pat’s memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or St. Michael’s Hospital
