It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Patrick Joseph Lenehan. Beloved son of the late Gertrude (nee Jeffrey) and Raymond Lenehan, brother to Linda (Joe), Gail (Al), and Raymond (deceased). Survived by daughter Danielle (Puck), son Aron, and cherished grandsons James and Jacob.
A devoted father and family man, Pat AKA "Poodle" was born in London, Ontario during the war. He grew up in Windsor where he played hockey or baseball until the street lights came on. After graduating high school, Pat left Windsor and joined the army as an infantryman and had a stint at the Seminary to become a priest. Those paths were not quite right for him, so he pursued his childhood dream to become a Police Constable which led him to Toronto where he raised his family and built a life.
Pat, known as "Poodle" was on the force for over 36 years, mainly at 52 Division. He loved 'the job' and his colleagues soon became a second family to him and his children.
Pat was an avid Blue Jays and Maple Leafs fan. A proud and devoted father and Grandpa, single-handedly raising Dani and Aron and forever doting on grandsons James and Jacob.
Well liked and respected, quick with a smile and joke for everyone he encountered. Pat touched many lives and will be greatly missed. The family invites those who knew and loved Pat to join them in honoring him.
A visitation for Pat will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Andrews Community Funeral Centre - Bramalea Chapel, 8190 Dixie Road, Brampton, ON L6T5N9, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM. Donations to The Hospital for Sick Children in lieu of flowers are appreciated.
An Irish Blessing
“May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
