It is with great sadness that I learned of Paul's passing. 
Paul and I volunteered for the Society of St Vincent de Paul. This activity had us delivering food support to people in our neighbourhood, weekly, for many years.  Paul was a reliable partner and was always ready to participate in additional events organized to address food insecurity. He was also quite ready to recruit more assistance, as needed. Once we retired, I would  see Paul and Kathy sitting on their front porch. They were seldom alone. Like me, many passers-by would stop and chat. Paul always had stories to tell and the gatherings were full of laughter. I will never be able to pass by without recalling those happy visits.

The lower photo, does not have Paul in it but he did volunteer for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, for many years. This food drive operated out of OLPH, Paul's home parish. He would be there somewhere!

My sincere condolences to dear Kathy, family and friends. 

I had the sincere pleasure and privilege to be Paul's neighbor for 13 years. He was one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I have met in my life. He watched over our street and our children and always asked how we were and how my extended family was doing. I will remember many laughs and discussions with him and Kathy on our shared front porch. Thank you Paul.

Condolences to all of Kathy's family on the passing of our cousin Paul. The McConvey family has now sadly lost another link to our family history. To me, Paul was the epitome of a genuinely nice guy with a devilish sense of humour. I will personally miss the telephone conversations when he always spoke so positively and lovingly about our Dad, his Mom's youngest brother.

It is with sadness I learned of Paul’s passing. He was a very kind and compassionate human being. Paul and I were volunteers with the Society of St Vincent de Paul. 
On many visits to families and individuals in need of assistance, he was very understanding and kind to all their needs.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Dearest Kathy and Family,

Knowing Paul and Kathy, one could not but smile and laugh at how their zest for life was infectious.

My beloved husband John Donabie  (Radio Broadcaster) would talk on-air about Paul and Kathy’s escapades.  John met Paul at Broughton’s when picking up a St. Jude statue, the  patron saint of Lost Causes.  This was the beginning of a great friendship that had lasted for many years.

The joke was if St. Jude was not available another saint will be able to assist you.  Paul would recommend other saints, St. Joseph, St. Michael, you named it he had them.  

Paul and Kathy had their honeymoon on the “The Queen Mary”, which docked in England.  Paul and Kathy stayed on the ship, as they were on their honeymoon. Upon their return, over dinner Paul and Kathy told us how they met a wonderful piano player and had long conversations with him.  John asked the name of the piano player, they said, Herbie Hancock.  John couldn’t believe they didn’t know who he was, they just loved his music and talking with him.  We laughed about that so many times.

Over dinners and phone conversations there were stories, about going to the Maple Leaf’s hockey games followed by drinks at the Royal York Hotel.  Beer for Paul and a Rusty Nail for Kathy.

Paul loved streetcars and would ride them whenever he could.  We joked that in the summer he would roll the window down and wave to the pedestrians.

Paul passed away one year after John on the same day.  I know Paul and John are in heaven together and talking to all the saints to get the protocols before meeting God.

Paul will be truly missed.

Paul was one of the first people I met when we moved into our house just down the street in Leslieville. He was also one of the last people I said to goodbye to when we moved away a few years ago. I shared so many conversations with Paul and Kathy on their porch, especially during covid.  Paul was always such a friendly face to see and speak to. I'm so sorry to hear about his passing.  He was a really fantastic person and neighbour.

I’m really going to miss those front‑porch chats with Paul—sharing a beer and some laughs on warm summer evenings after work. I’m grateful for the moments we had. My life, and the lives of my kids, are better for having known him. Cheers to you, Paul, and God bless.
