Pearce Arnold Carefoote

CAREFOOTE, PEARCE ARNOLD. Died peacefully on Sunday, 29 March 2026, at St Joseph’s Health Centre, Toronto, at the age of 91. Predeceased by his parents Sheldon and Bessie Carefoote (née Talmadge), his brothers Sheldon, Tom, George, Hugh, Art, and his sister Ada. Beloved husband of the late Florence (née Sullivan) and the late Yvonne (née Salteri).

Lovingly remembered by his children Donna, Jane (Steve), and Pearce (Kevin), as well as Yvonne’s children (the Robertson family), Michael (Juli), Carol (Glen), and Craig (Deneen). Pearce was born in his family home at 98 Marlow Avenue in East York on 25 March 1935. After graduating from East York Collegiate, he was employed by Colgate-Palmolive Canada where he worked for thirty-six years before retiring in 1990. His passion for thoroughbred horses and a good poker game was surpassed only by love for his family. As Pearce’s health declined in the last few years, he was lovingly supported by his Health Care Aides, Grace dela Cruz, Maggi Ojano, Mina Malajaca, and Glenn Camilo. The family will be eternally thankful for their loving service. Our special thanks to the team at the Palliative Centre of St Joseph’s Hospital for their exceptional care for Pearce during his final days

Visitation will be held at Giffen-Mack & Trull Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON M4C1L3, CA, on April 7, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. The Funeral Service will follow from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative Care Centre at St Joseph’s Hospital, would be gratefully received.
