Delorma Pearl Marie Hoare (nee LaChapelle), beloved wife of the late Fernley Hoare, daughter of the late Mathias John and Delorma Rose LaChapelle and sister of John Kenneth Ronald of Elliot Lake and Howard Aubrey LaChapelle. Auntie of John Edward LaChapelle of Port Hope, Jean Marie Brown of Ottawa, Ontario, Julia Ann Stickley (nee LaChapelle) of Calgary, Alberta and Jennifer Rose Donnelly (nee LaChapelle) of Everett, Ontario. Great-aunt to Sarah, Benjamin, William, Katie and Laura Brown, Alexander and Michael Stickley and James and Madelaine Donnelly.
Graduated from Aldersgate Bible College, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, with a Bachelor of Theology degree. She began working for the Ontario Provincial Police in the Fingerprint Department from 1968 to 1973. In 1973, Pearl went to South Africa and lived in Plumstead, a suburb of Cape Town. Pearl acted as ‘English’ secretary for the Rev. Colin Peckham of Africa Evangelistic Band (a mission organization), aiding in the publication of “Youth Challenge” (a Christian Magazine). Upon returning to Toronto in late 1973, she sought work and was offered her former job with the Ontario Provincial Police and happily took it. She transferred in 1980 to the new and forming library of the Ontario Provincial Police and worked there until her retirement in August 1987.
Gone home to be with her Lord, March 8, 2017, at the True Davidson Acres Nursing Home.
Visitation on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at the Church of The Nazarene, 363 Main St., Toronto, at 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial at Baldwin Cemetery, Baldwin, Ontario, Canada.
