We have all lost a lovely, lovely man. Kind, generous, giving to anyone that needed help. Excellent cook, dancer, husband, caregiver to my ailing father, father extraordinaire, brother, brother in law, uncle and friend. During the past 17 and 1/2 years he has suffered many debilitating health issues. He was robbed of enjoying his late 40’s, 50’s and entering into his 60’s a new challenge raised its ugly head, Cancer. We were fortunate to celebrate his final birthday on April 11th. He was growing weaker and the pain started.
On a lovely spring day, April 25/19, he waited for me to leave the room for only moments when he took his last breath. He looked so peaceful. Finally! Soar with the angels sweet heart. Finally you are free from pain and suffering. Your legacy lives on.
You met and were entertained by many celebrities. To mention a few: Carol Burnett, Elizabeth Taylor, the “Fonz”, Nick Nolte, Anthony Quin, Julio Iglesias, Gerry Lewis and many more. You had one final beautiful visit with your precious Nicole, she finds great comfort in that. Predeceased by his parents Armand and Madeline De Clercq, sister Fran De Clercq many family members and friends. Especially your father and mother in-law Nick and Anna Di Giacomo that you took such good care of.
Left to mourn: Your loving wife Fiorella (Fee) De Clercq, your special angel Nicole De Clercq and sister in law and caregiver Joanne Di Giacomo. Also our furry baby Coco. 5 remaining siblings, numerous nieces and nephews and regrettably great nieces and nephews that you will never know. Lastly, Thanks to the caregivers and nurses at the Salvation Army Meighan Manor for their tender loving care especially when he was in palliative care. Awesome Go for it!! You are now free. Donations in memory of Philip may be made out to a few of his favourite charities; Sick Kids, Children's make a wish foundation, Heart and Stroke and Canadian Cancer Society.
