Beloved wife of the late P.V. Rajagopal, mother to Mohan, predeceased (Lucie) and Sucheta, Rama will be sorely missed by her brother Bharath.
Rama was much loved by her extended family of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in laws and cousins as well as many friends.
After arriving in Canada in 1962, Rama’s first job was as a key punch operator at National Life Assurance Co. Driven by her intellect and persistence, she had a ground breaking career in computer systems, retiring after managing quality assurance for securities systems at major Canadian financial institutions.
Chief among Rama’s pleasures were watching tennis and drinking wine. Seeing the French Open at Roland Garros was a highlight of her life. Her musical taste was eclectic ranging from the Bollywood tunes of her youth to an appreciation of opera developed later in her life. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain. She enjoyed travelling and made friends everywhere she went; her death is mourned by many people who knew her over the years.
We will miss her bubbly personality, her opinions and her love.
Friends and family, please raise a glass of Spanish red to Rama and toast to a long life well lived.
We would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Main Street Terrace for their comfort and care in the last weeks and days of Rama’s life.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Giffen-Mack and Trull Funeral home on Sunday October 4th from 1 – 3 pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Street Health Toronto or the charity of your choice.
