Rita Marie Mackay

Passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto, on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the age of 85.

Rita was preceded in death by her former husband, John Russell Glintz; infant identical twin boys; brother, Ronald; sister, Alice; parents, James MacKay and Margaret Heeney.

Dear sister of Ruth (and the late Richard), Roy (and the late Kathleen), Jim (Denise), Mary (John) and Ian, sister-in-law Patricia, and aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Proud mother of Debbie Sherwin (Terry St. Peter), David (Brigitta) Glintz, Brenda (Keith) Ritchie, Helen Glintz, Lauren (Wally) Ivanchuk, Maggie (John) Tomlinson. Her family lineage also included 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Rita was a long-time employee of Canada Post, an avid reader, and she was passionate about genealogy, meticulously keeping the records of our family history.

The family is extremely grateful for the outstanding care mom received. Heartfelt thanks for helping her end her life with so much love and dignity. Her courageous spirit will live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
