Melissa would often paint a beautiful picture of this funny, witty, charming man who made people laugh and treated everyone with respect and kindness. And that’s exactly the man I met. Even though we only crossed paths a few times it was easy to see why you were well loved by many and will be missed dearly.  Time will ease the pain, but never fully heal it. 

Thank you for the laughs and memories Mr. C! You are missed…until we meet again. 

Robert was a great friend in the short time we knew him no matter who the person was he never said anything mean about them. He was kind and caring and always had a positive attitude . Whenever we would go and visit Robert and John they always welcomed you in there home. The best thing we will remember Robert for was his jokes he always had a new one. Dan and I will miss you dearly hope your at peace now.

I had the great good fortune to meet Robert, on May 16, 2016, in what is my local, and what became our regular monthly meetup (the Hair of the Dog). Robert was entertaining people with what I came to recognise was his usual collection of corny jokes, magic tricks and wisecracks.

Upon further enquiry, we discovered that we had spent some of our formative years some 20 miles from one another, he in Southwest Scotland (in Ayrshire), me in Northeast Ireland. The 20 miles were covered in some of the coldest water in Europe, so our paths didn't cross until we met here.

It was always an honour & a privilege to have known Robert, even if it was in his later years - but glimpses of the man he was in his prime were always visible. He was a entertainer, a reader of poetry, an actor, and always a powerful and courageous presence.

Jon, we grieve along with you, but recall RR with respect, love & gratitude. Sleep well, Robert, our friend.
