I'm terribly sorry to hear of Bob's passing.  He was such a staple in my childhood, be it listening to his stories in the cabin at Long Pond Ridge, or having him tease me about the Leafs, I have many great memories of him.   The last time I saw him, he had the same sense of humour and devilment that I had admired over the years at home.   
Bob was a very unique figure, and carried a very wise aire about him.    His humour and personality will carry on in Burlington for a long time to come.

To all of you from Smiley's who attended Bobby's memorial yesterday, the respect and graciousness you showed our friend deeply touched my heart. 

You all looked so nice.   The occasional necktie didn't go unnoticed nor did each guy removing your hat as you entered the room.  Dan, Rik was happy to hold your hat on his knee.  

I know you're probably thinking ' well, it's the right thing to do ', and, yes, you're right . It's just that, well, did I mention that everyone was dressed really nice? , plus , I don't think I've ever seen any of you wearing a tie and those who wear a hat, well, some of you I've never seen not wearing one. 

I felt very honored to be there with each and every one of you.

Edna, Jodi, Eddie and families,  sending all our love at this sad time.  Hold on to the happy memories you share and take care of each other.  Rest easy Bob you will never be forgotten.  Love you all.

Edna, Jody and family and Eddie and family. We were saddened to hear about Bob's passing. We have many great memories of him which we will hold close to our heart. we spent lots of time together at the cabin eating his Chinese delicacy and boy could he ever add flavour. Death leaves a horrible sting and it tends to linger for a long time. It's something that doesn't get any easier but you just learn to deal with it in your own way. I'm sure he will be missed by his grandchildren who are so special to poppys. My kids will always remember him because they never went unnoticed when he was around. Wish we could have been there during this time but because of work and the miles we are apart that couldn't happen. We are praying that everything works out for the summer so we can be together then. Rest assured you are all being thought about and each one of you in our prayers. Uncle Clayton is happy he called your Dad on his birthday and then your s Dad returned the birthday greetings to Uncle Clayton in October. He's gone from his suffering now, love you all Uncle Clayt, Aunt Denise and family...
