Robert Lamont Smith

Peacefully on august 10, 2012, in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of Eleanor Florence (Nan). Loving father and father-in-law of Peter and Pearle, and devoted grandfather of Ellen and Robert, all of Birmingham, Alabama. After serving in the RCAF during WWII, flying with No 307 (Polish) Night Fighter Squadron, Bob attended Queen’s University, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Following graduation he had a long career with Phillips Cables Limited in its Sales Management Division. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends for his kindness, generosity and loyalty. Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at a later date with interment in the family plot at Pine Hills Cemetery. If desired, in memoriam donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
