It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rocco Petrolo, who peacefully left us on June 27, 2025, in Toronto, Ontario. Born on September 13, 1938, in Capistrano, Catanzaro, Italy, Rocco’s life was a testament to kindness, community, and family.
Rocco was reunited in spirit with his beloved wife Anna, who passed away on April 28, 2005. He is dearly missed by his children Frank (Pina) and Anna (Frank), and cherished as Nonno by his grandchildren Alyssa (Matthew), Domenica, Rocco Alexander, Julia, and Michael Rocco. He also took great joy in being Bisnonno to little Austin.
Known affectionately as the "Mayor of Clinton St.," Rocco was a true people person—always greeting neighbors with a warm “hello” and sharing his friendly spirit with everyone he met. A great lover of dogs, he was predeceased by his loyal companions Chico and Roxie and is fondly remembered by his dog Bobby.
Rocco’s warmth extended beyond borders, as he is mourned by extended family and friends across Australia, Italy, and Canada.
Donations in Rocco’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto.
Rocco’s legacy of love, community, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
