

Rogelio Danglay Gasmen
February 23, 1949 – January 6, 2026
Rogelio Aguilar Gasmen was born on February 23,1949 in Balbalayang, San Gabriel, La Union, Philippines. He was raised in a close-knit community and carried with him a deep appreciation for faith, family and hard work throughout his life.
Rogelio was a man of strong Christian faith. He grew up in the Protestant tradition through the United Church of Christ in the Philippines and later continued his spiritual journey in Canada as a member of the Presbytarian Church. His place of worship is Knob Hill United Church and Dentonia Park United Church, where he found community, fellowship and spiritual grounding.
An entrepreneurial and determined individual, Rogelio graduated with a degree in Business Management and was involved in business in the Philippines including work in the rice mill industry. He valued education and lifelong journey and travelled the world. He explored Europe, Saudi Arabia, and the USA- an outlook that reflected his curiosity, ambition and openness to new experiences.
Rogelio was married to Cresencia Aguilar Gasmen, with whom he shared a devoted partnership rooted in love, faith and mutual respect. They were married on September 6, 1991, at the City of Manila.
Rogelio is lovingly remembered by his Family, including his parents Aurelio Gasmen and Migeula Padlok Danglay and his siblings Florentina G. Ricasa, late Melchor Gasmen, Mely Manglugay, and Victorina G. Agustin. He will be cherished by his wife Cresencia Aguilar Gasmen, his two daughters, Maria Theresa Aguilar Gasmen, Lara Aguilar Gasmen, whose lives were shaped by his guidance, care and quiet strength.
Rogelio will be remembered for his steadfast faith, dedication to family, entrepreneurial spirit, and the values he instilled in those around him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
a Visitation for Mr. Gasmen will take place on Saturday January 17, 2026 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm followed service at 1:00 pm.
