It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Rosa Liscio, who left us peacefully on June 25, 2025, at the age of 80. She was surrounded by her loving daughters, sisters, nieces, dear friends, and family who adored her deeply.
Rosa was born on November 14, 1944, in Greci, Avellino, Italy. She later immigrated to Canada after meeting and marrying her one true love, Roccantonio, beginning a new life together in a foreign land, filled with hope and determination. Though she left her home behind, she carried her roots proudly and built a new world with strength, sacrifice, and love.
Our mamma was a true creative spirit she loved to paint, draw, and color, expressing herself through every brushstroke and sketch. Animals, especially cats, gravitated toward her gentle soul. Her home was always filled with furry companions who knew instinctively that Mamma Ro would care for them with tenderness.
Rosa was also a passionate reader, with a quirky habit of reading the last page of a book first if she liked the ending, only then would she start from the beginning. She was full of personality, wit, and laughter, and could light up any room she walked into.
She was a devoted wife and a proud, loving mother known for her warm smile, infectious laugh, and occasional cheeky glare when things didn't go her way. Rosa loved going out for coffee, watching movies, and sharing moments of joy with friends and family. She was a true social butterfly with a heart that embraced everyone she met.
Now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Roccantonio, her knight, her soul mate Rosa is once again free, young, and at peace.
She leaves behind her devoted daughters Connie (Mike) and Antonietta (Nella), her son-in-law Peter, her cherished sisters, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and her many, many dear friends who loved her like family.
We are devastated to say goodbye, but we take comfort in knowing she is in loving arms again free of pain, and surrounded by light, love, and eternal peace.
We love you, Ma. Forever and always.
A visitation to honor the life of Rosa will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 1141 St. Clair Avenue West. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. John Bosco Church, located at 402 Westmount Avenue. Following the service, Rosa will be laid to rest during an entombment at Prospect Cemetery, 1450 St. Clair Avenue West, beginning at approximately 11:15 AM.
In memory of Rosa, donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Diabetes Canada, or Toronto Cat Rescue. Your support is deeply appreciated.
