Rosaria Cicero

Rosaria (Sara) Cicero Catanese was born on November 10, 1928, in Piraino, Sicily and passed away peacefully on September 4, 2024, in Toronto, Ontario in her 96th year of life surrounded by her loving family.

Sara was the beloved wife of the late Tindaro whom she is now reunited with after 31 years along with her son, Joseph, and daughter, Rosanna in eternal peace.

Sara was a devoted and proud mother of Santino (Lina), Frank (Filomena), the late Joseph (Shannon), the late Rosanna, Rita (Antonio), and Antonino.

Sara leaves behind her sisters, Anna, Nunziata, Antonina, and Margherita and is predeceased by siblings Maria, Giuseppa and Francesco.

She was a beloved Nonna and Bisnonna to 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren who will miss her deeply along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sara had an unmatched passion for family, friends, and neighbours. Her home was a haven of warmth, and nothing gave her greater joy than ensuring every guest left with a full heart and a fuller stomach.

Her legacy is beautifully woven into the cohesive and loving family she nurtured, the traditions she upheld, the stories she shared, and the recipes she passed down through the generations. Sara’s strength, wisdom, and love will remain an enduring source of inspiration for all who knew her.

May she rest in the embrace of God, forever in peace.
