Moncada, Sara - passed away at Michael Garron Hospital on Sunday June 16 with her son Joe at her side. Born April 20, 1932 in Pachino, Sicily, Sara emigrated to Canada in 1952. She was a homemaker, a highly skilled seamstress, knitter, and crocheter. Sara very much loved children, including her own two sons, her nieces and nephew, her many god-children, her grand-nieces and grand-nephews, the neighbourhood children, others she cared for, and of course her grand-daughter. She was a lively, vivacious, loving, and generous person. Sara showed her love through food, and was always ready to offer a seat at her table and serve up someone's favourite foods at a moment's notice. Sara is predeceased by her husband, Pietro, her youngest son, Guy, and her brother Tony. She is survived by her oldest son Joe, her daughter-in-law Laura, grand-daughter Leah, and sister Carmela.
The Visitation will be held on Monday June 24 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 at the Trull Funeral Home, 1111 Danforth Avenue (one block east of Donlands Subway), Toronto. A service will be held at 4:00 on Monday June 24 at the Trull Funeral Home. Flowers are welcome. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Kidney Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
