Thank you to each and every one of you for showing your love and support to our family during our time of suffering, especially for being there for us as we share in the memories of our grandfather. Although it is hard for each of us to say our goodbyes, we are also happy as our grandfather is no longer suffering -rather, he is happy and at peace.
 
Our grandfather was an amazing person. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to all of us. We have so many great memories of him. From him picking us up from school, to taking us for walks, to playing, joking, sharing a laugh, feeding the rabbits and getting the eggs to watching some of the greatest shows with us. Nonno especially loved when we were all together during the holidays and special occasions…and although he didn't say much to let us know, we knew just how happy he was to be surrounded by all of us, just by looking at him. One thing we will never forget is just how particular he was, in more ways than one.  He wanted so many things a certain way such as having lunch at the same time…right after the price is right to taking a nap in the afternoon right before a soccer game to reading the paper and listening to the news every morning to having wine at each and every meal. These are just few of the special memories we have of Nonno Turri. He definitely was an incredibly strong person, both on the inside and out; however, we will never forget the soft spot he had for each of us, his grandchildren and his great granddaughter – always smiling when he saw us. Just that was enough to know just how much he loved us and cared for us. 

There are so many things that we will always remember about our grandfather, and although he is no longer with us in person today, we know that his spirit will be with us always. We are each grateful to have known him, to have created and shared special memories with him and to have the privilege of carrying these memories with us each and every day, from this day forward. 

Nonno, know that we love you so much and we already miss you. It is hard to accept that you are no longer here, but know that we are truly happy and at peace knowing that you are no longer suffering – we know you are smiling down at us. And your laugh every time you saw Simona is what will get me through each day. I can't wait to share with her, all the memories of you.

I leave you with this - Don't you worry: We promise that someone, one of us, will have that glass of wine for you at each and every meal.

All it took was just one look, and, you said whatever we needed to hear.
With that one look, you instilled a healthy fear and respect for authority.
That one look, left no doubt who was really the boss.
But, most importantly, in that one look, your love for your family and your pride in us always came through.

Salvatore Dominelli always had a big heart and a big smile.   Whenever he walked into a room, his presence was known.  HIs eyes would twinkle; he had a great sense of humour and he always had a way of making people feel important no matter who they were.  The world has lost a wonderful person and we are sad that he has passed away.  I cannot help but think he is in heaven now entertaining the angels.
