McComb, Sarah Catherine (nee Superville), passed away peacefully on September 19 at Bridgepoint Palliative Care Centre, after a long courageous journey dealing with metastatic breast cancer. She was 51 years old. A devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher and friend. Sarah will be loved forever by her husband of 26 years, Wes and their children; Aidan (Maggy), Nicholas, Peter & Katherine; her parents Errol and Patricia Superville; her sister Ciara (Andrew); her brother John (Teresa); her nieces and nephews who adored their Auntie Sarah and her many dear friends. She is predeceased by her brother Christopher.
Born and raised in Toronto, Sarah attended St. Joseph's Morrow Park school and the University of Western Ontario. After completing university she worked in the financial services industry at Scotia McLeod until she and Wes started their family. Children were the centre of her life. Even before she had her own children she immersed herself in her community volunteering as a Brown Owl with the Girl Guides of Canada. After her youngest child started school she went back to teachers college. She became the go-to supply teacher at St Denis Catholic School in the Beaches area of Toronto, which all her own children attended.
Her love and curiosity were evident in everything she did. From raising butterflies at the cottage, picnics at the beach, to painting paddles, curiosity was always what drove her to create. Sarah also loved bringing people together and for her there was no better way then with food. She loved to plan themed dinner parties and bring many friends and family together. There was always room at the table; she infected everyone with her joy, humour and appreciation of that moment. This delight in life was represented in the many friends she had. Friendship was something she cherished and she worked hard to maintain those relationships. At the root of it all, family was EVERYTHING to Sarah and she is EVERYTHING to us.
Please note due to Covid the capacity at Blessed Trinity church is 140 people. We look forward to seeing Sarah's close friends and family. The mass will also be available on livestream. There will also be a memorial celebration in the future when we can all safely gather together.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation in Sarah's name to St. Michael's Hospital Foundation or your favorite charity.
