Sheila Ann Cram passed away peacefully at her home in Toronto on February 16, 2026, in her 84th year. She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Douglas, Kevin, and Brian; her grandson, Dylan; and her daughters-in-law, Samantha and Kara. Sheila was born in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, on July 2, 1941, to Samuel and Hartley Barlow. She graduated from the School of Nursing at McGill University, beginning a lifelong commitment to caring for others.
In 1966, Sheila married her beloved husband, George Cram, and moved from Montreal to Toronto. In 1968, she and George left Canada to serve as missionaries with the Anglican Church in Venezuela and the Dominican Republic. After returning to Canada in 1973, Sheila became a nurse administrator at Mount Sinai Hospital. Deeply committed to community health and social justice, Sheila was a founding board member of the South Riverdale Community Health Centre. She later worked as a manager at Bloor Information and Life Skills Centre, supporting and empowering women in need. Civic-minded and generous with her time, she volunteered in local elections, assisted with the census, and served in many roles at St. Barnabas Anglican Church.
Sheila loved her husband dearly, and her gentle nature and beautiful smile endured throughout her life. She found joy in attending the ballet and symphony, participating in church life, tending to her plants, and reading widely. She will be remembered for her resilience, love, and steadfast faith.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on February 27 at St. Barnabas Anglican Church (361 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON M4K 1P1).
