
CAMPBELL, Sterling William – Passed away peacefully on September 9, 2012 surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Prince Edward Island June 28, 1933, Sterling moved to Toronto in 1952, but never lost his love for ‘The Island’. Sterling was a devoted husband to Joan (nee Rudling) for 8 years, who preceded him in death, and Ivy (nee Carlson) for 43 years. Loving father to Rick (Colleen), Darlene (Greg), Holly (Martin), and Eric (Lisa); proud grandfather of 7 and great-grandfather of 2. The 4th youngest of 12 children, Sterling is survived by Wilfred (Bessie), and Ruby (Leigh) both of PEI, and many nieces and nephews. Sterling was a printer at DRG for over 35 years, and in retirement an active participant at Variety Village. Friends will be received at Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, on Wednesday September 12 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday September 13 at 10am. Interment to follow at Pine Hills Cemetery, followed by a reception at Royal Canadian Legion Oakridge Branch, 2 Robinson Ave., Scarborough.
