Sending my condolences to Mrs Tate’s and her wonderful daughters. They always go out of their way to supply me with the best possible flowers they have available for my garden which I am truly thankful also I am going to miss driving by the front of the store where she will be sitting out front with her daughters and jokingly I will yell out my car window and say “ Hey, Ladies any free flowers, and they will always say not today” that I am going to miss.
To a very kind lady “May she Rest In Peace”.

I was an employee at EEGC in the spring season of 2016! Mrs Tate was a wonderful strong lady so I was lucky to have gotten the change to meet. Her story is incredibly inspiring and her legacy will live on in the community for many generations. A wonderful woman, may she Rest In Peace

I lived almost next door to the Garden Centre in the 80's and 90's and visited regularly for plants and related advice . Mrs. Tate was always helpful and always had the answers. She was a remarkable lady. I am very sad to hear of her passing and offer my condolences to her family at this difficult time. May she rest in peace.

I am so sorry to learn of Terry's passing. As a customer for 30 years,
I often had a chance to talk with Mrs. Tait. She had strong and wisely held opinions on many things. I always found her stories fascinating, even if I heard some more than once! She encouraged women entrepreneurs like herself. When she could, she always sourced Canadian and local suppliers. (Always fairly priced and of the best quality). What a wonderful Matriarch for her growing family.
She will be missed by neighbours, customers and family

My family has had a presence on Queen Street East for more than a century. I knew Terry Tate well. I did legal work for her and her family for many years.
Terry was a force of nature. A bit rough around the edges perhaps but sharp as a tack and with an abundance of street smarts.
Not afraid to get her hands dirty she did every kind of job imaginable.
A woman of kindness and compassion the undisputed matriarch of her large family.
Devoted to them, she dedicated her life to making sure they were provided for. She opened more than one business so that her family would have opportunities.
When I moved homes or offices Tate Movers would look after us.
Something for the yard? East End Garden Center never disappointed.
I have the greatest respect for Terry and I am saddened to see that she has passed.
They don’t make them like that any more!

Condolences to the entire Tate family. May her memory be a blessing.

I remember so much about your mom dinging the streetcar horn at her. The talks she gave me about money and holding on to it. The crap she gave me if I didn’t do my garden justice I sent my love and condolences to all you girls you had a great mother and I am so sorry for your loss

Sending my condolences to Mrs Tate's wonderful family. She was an amazing woman. When I first started my gardening business, Annscape, she was so supportive. I loved hearing all of her stories and was ever amazed by her strength. Sorry for your loss. Ann

We are both so sorry to hear of Mrs Tate’s passing. She was a strong hearted, strong minded lady. Obvious to me when she hopped on the forklift Just last summer (against rebukes from Cathy) and said...here, let ME show you how it’s done! And off she went!!
Over the years I knew her, she always had time to share stories of her background and always made sure I got a chocolate bar for the drive home to Binbrook in traffic. Will miss her presence at the store holding a spot right out front! Parting is difficult but speak of her often and she will always be by your side.
With Love

Theresa (Grandma T) was a huge inspiration to many people including me, from a very young age. She was very strong mentally and physically. She could sing, whistle and dance with such elegance. She could handle a chainsaw, drive a moving truck or do anything she put her mind to. Her smile was so beautiful and warm, you instantly felt welcomed in her presence. She always helped the less fortunate and wouldn't hesitate to take the shirt of her own back. She was an extremely intelligent successful business woman that never stopped learning. She always kept up with current affairs, on the news and in the newspaper.
She was a shining star and will be greatly missed.

Our sincere condolences to all of the Tate Family.
