I have many great memories of Uncle Vernon’s visits to Alberta, over the years. This one is from Beach Days when he visited our cabin at Clear Lake at the end of July in 2016. He and my Dad, Art Boggs, were quite the pair at that point in time. I’m so greatful to have been able to get to know Uncle Vernon.

I will always remember Uncle Vernon’s visits to the west and our endless, interesting, if not debate like , conversations. He was always so curious and interested in the kids and what they were doing, wanted details about projects we were working in, or rationales for doing something a certain way. My best memory though, was driving with him on the twisty, turny road up to Miette Hot Springs. I think he thought we were in a race of some kind and although, I feared for my life, I loved  the thrill at the same time   I loved that he seemed genuinely happy to spend time with us and always, thankful that he and my Dad shared such a strong, brotherly relationship. I will really miss our annual visits and know that he will live in in our memories. We love and will miss you, Uncle Vernon. 

My Dad was a good father, and a good friend.

My Father, Vern, spent many years in the job he loved, as an Electronics Technician. He had a long life and very healthy until his last few months. I will always remember him as my hardworking Dad who never stopped reading and learning as much as he could to keep his mind occupied and lovingly supported his family for many years. Rest In Peace .
