To Those I Love and Those Who Love Me

When I am gone, release me, let me go, I have so many things to see and do. You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears. Be thankful for the beautiful years I gave to you my love. You can only guess How much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you have shown, But now it’s time I traveled on alone. So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It’s only for a short time that we must part So bless the memories within your heart. I won’t be far away, for life goes on and if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can’t see me or touch me, I’ll be near and if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear All of my love around you soft and clear And then, when you must come this way alone, I’ll greet you with a smile and say, “Welcome Home”

Auntie Vi was the wife of my dad - Alex Adair 's younger brother James [Jim] Adair. Although we are many miles away living in France we kept in regular contact by telephone. Auntie Vi visited us and we last saw her here in Toronto in November 2009. She was an amazing lady who always said that it was nicotine that kept her going! We will not forget her sharp wit and her strong love for Jim and her Adair family. I was very pleased to be able to attend her funeral and to meet her friends. Christopher Adair. Vi and my mother, Peggy Shier, were cousins as I was told. They were good friends as well over the years until my mothers passing.

I also knew Vi and she was a fine lady. I normally talked to her each year at Christmas.

My condolences to her family and friends.
