

Win was born on June 6, 1934, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and passed away on June 4, 2023, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada two days shy of her 89th birthday.
Predeceased by her parents James Walter and Dorothy Sarah Ann Davenport.
She is reunited with her High School Sweetheart, James Whiteside.
Loving mother of Valerie (Peter), Melanie (Denis), and Trevor (Johanna).
Devoted grandmother to Chantelle (Roberto), James, Anna, and Asher. Great-Grandmother to Nico.
Predeceased by her siblings Jim and Debbie.
Her second husband, Arthur Mahon, also predeceases Winifred.
Cherished stepmom of Michael (Sharon), predeceased Scott (Debbie), and Mitchel.
Loving grandmother to Robert (Heather), and Allan. Great-grandmother to Emmett and Marshall.
Win will be missed by her life-long friend from kindergarten, Marg Letherby.
One of Winifred’s most proud accomplishments was when she graduated from Toronto General Hospital, class of January 1957. She was a lifelong proud alumnus of the TGH community. She pursued her nursing career for many years, proudly serving her community at large.
After she retired, Win took on many great hobbies. She became an accomplished wood carver. She spent her time reading, doing crosswords, and completing jigsaw puzzles.
Aside from her hobbies, Winifred was happiest and most content spending time at her cottage on Otter Lake.
She will be forever remembered and loved by her family and friends.
Family and friends may visit at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 1141 St. Clair Ave. W. (1 block east of Dufferin) on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 5:00pm-8:00pm.
There will be a short visitation in the morning at 10:00am on Thursday, June 8, 2023, directly followed by the Funeral Service at the Jerrett Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00am.
Burial to follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family have requested donations in Memory of Winifred Whiteside-Mahon be made to Women's College Hospital-Family Practice, Princess Margaret Hospital-Palliative Care, Michael Garron Foundation.
PLEASE NOTE: Masks are no longer required to attend indoor funeral services, for those that feel more comfortable wearing a mask, please feel free to do so.
