Dear Nancy, Jordan, Simone, Renate, Anita, and family,

It was with heart felt sadness that we learned of Yan's passing . Although we did not connect as much in recent years, we shared many great times and harbour many fond memories of times at Lac Pemichangan. Yan and I spent many a misty morning with the canoe across the bow of our little boat , talking about our families, while heading off to the portage trail leading to Lac Terre Bonne. Yan and I explored every nook , cranny, and fishing hole on Lac Terre Bonne and were rewarded time and again with spectacular small mouth bass. In recent years I have done the same with my son and continue to do so. The memories run deep on that lake. Each time  I head in to that special lake I always think of Yan ...I think that will always be the case.

Dear Nancy, Anita, Renate & Family: Today I have learned of my childhood friend Yan's passing. It saddens my heart that I have not kept in touch and now I must wait till we meet in heaven. Yes I know you are there and do you remember when playing ball as kids for Remington Park little league. I went all year without a hit and then you said to me today you get a hit. As the pitcher for the opposing team you said, today you will get your first hit for the last game of the season. Thanks Yan I got to third base and then home thanks to you with that special wink you gave me other wise I would of went the season without a single hit. A baseball player I am not but you made me the king of the day. Thank you Yan for one of many fond memories of our friendship and always putting others ahead of yourself. You will be missed my friend.

Dear Nancy and family.  Yan and Anita and I were childhood friends. Although we never kept in touch I often think fondly of Yan. I remember your wedding and your early days living in Toronto and how happy you both were.  I'm sorry I could not pay my respects but I only found out today.  My deepest symapthy.

My deepest condolences to Yan's immediate and extended family on his passing. I was privileged to work with Yan more closely over a period of time during my years with the Ontario Native Affairs Secretariat starting in 2000. His combination of high professional standards, attention to detail and interest in the development of his staff ensured that not only was necessary work done, but knowledge was created and sustained in the organization as part of the process. It is a concept that I have come to admire and adopt and I will always remember Yan as the source of that lesson.

Dear Simone and Family,

I was so incredibly saddened to hear of the loss of your father. I can only imagine how hard this would be to endure. 

I will remember your father as a very warm man as I think about some childhood summers I spent with you and your family by your pool.

Dear Lazor family,
I worked with Yan many years ago when he was at the Official Guardian's office, and still remember him as a wonderful lawyer and human being.  His keen judgment, enthusiasm, sense of humour and cheerful disposition have stayed with me all these years.  My sincere condolences on his loss.

Was saddened to hear about Uncle Yan's passing.  I have many wonderful childhood memories of him fishing, sailing, teaching me to swing a driver (ouch!) and his terrific laugh.  I will always treasure those memories and will miss him deeply.  My deepest sympathies.  My family will keep you in our prayers.

I am so very sorry to hear of Yan's passing.  Yan was someone who was full of enthusiasm for life and just exuded happiness.  I remember chatting with him about going to law school and his eyes lighting up with excitement about the possibilities for doing good in the world with that degree.  He loved his work, but far exceeding that was his love for his family, which was palpable.  He seemed to be incapable of looking at Simone and Jordan without smiling with pride and amazement at their accomplishments!  I hope Nancy, Simone and Jordan and the rest of Yan's family can take some comfort in the knowledge of how very happy they made Yan during his lifetime.
I'm so sorry not to be there to pay my respects in person.

I was so sorry to hear of Yan's passing.  I worked with him at ONAS as his EA for a short period of time. My colleagues and I at ALOC (the Association of Law Officers of the Crown) were deeply saddened to learn of Yan's passing. Yan was a highly respected lawyer and a former President of ALOC, and during his tenure was instrumental in the negotiation of a substantial salary increase for government lawyers. ALOC members past and present owe him a great debt of gratitude for that tremendous accomplishment, which serves as a lasting legacy. I had the privilege of serving as board secretary during his Presidency, and learned a great deal from him. He will be sorely missed by his colleagues in government, and our deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends. Thank you for all your efforts on our behalf, Yan, and may you rest in peace.

Dear Nancy and Family,

It is with much sadness that I just learned of Yan's passing. He was my first contact many years ago when I was given the privilege of joining the Ministers of The Word, at St. Michael's Cathedral. Unfortunately, our last positive conversation was not fulfilled, for all of us here were looking to having Yan return to reading, at least on an occasional basis.
He will be included in my prayers. I wish to extent my heartfelt sympathy's to all of Yan's family and friends.

 I am so proud of Yan's accomplishments in life.  He was an excellent lawyer, an amazing husband and father, a hockey and baseball coach and a wonderful brother. I admire the courage he has shown in the past 10 years in his battle against cancer. Few of us would have been so courageous. I am so proud that he wrote a book about his journey, however difficult that may have been. I will miss his presence and his voice over the phone, but I know at least that he is no longer suffering. I will forever hold close to my heart the fond memories we shared.

I was so sorry to read about Yan's passing.  I worked with him a long time ago and to this day remember what a pleasure it was.  To his family I wish my heartfelt condolences.

Mere words could not possibly convey the sadness felt when I heard of Yan’s passing.  He was a true family man and a wonderful friend to everyone who was lucky enough to know him.  My heart goes out to you all!  He was a great man who was so lucky to have such a loving family that he treasured more than anything.  He will be sincerely missed, but the happy memories will keep him with us always!!!  If there is anything that I can do, please let me know.  You will be in my heart and in my prayers!!  God Bless!!
