

Ying Chiu Chan (James, Ming Quon) aged 88, passed away peacefully on September 29 at Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care, Scarborough McNicoll, surrounded by family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Toy Har Kuan, father Wung Tat Chan, mother Chuck Ying Chan and brother Joe Chan. Ying Chiu will be lovingly remembered by son Jim (Lea Anne Moran); daughter Joan Eskins (Peter Josipovic); son Jan (Amy Man), daughter Helen (Rob Heayn); grandsons, Steve, Nat, Keegan, Joshua and Callum, granddaughters Denise, Kyla, Riley and Madison, great-grandson Ethan and great grand-daughters Aidan, Anastazja, Alessandra and Sophie, sister-in-law, Judy Chan, nephew Yue On Chan and many other nieces and nephews. Ying Chiu was born in Hoi Ping, China, immigrated to Canada in 1950 and raised his family in Toronto. The family wishes to extend thanks to the staff at Yee Hong McNicoll and special heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Helen Fong for her devoted care of their father. Viewing will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Trull Funeral Home, 1111 Danforth Avenue, Toronto, followed by the funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Rd, Scarborough, Ont.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Yee Hong Community Wellness Foundation 頤康基金會 in memory of Ying Chiu Chan (Ming Quon) would be much appreciated.
